BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia - An elderly woman has died in what appears to have been a freakish accident in Bathurst on Wednesday night.

Initial inquiries by officers from the Chifley Local Area Command suggest the woman, later named as Mrs Dot Burke, got out of the Toyota Corolla and began to walk in front of it, when the vehicle rolled over her.

Mrs. Burke, who was aged 80, died at the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
